1976 Harley-Davidson FXE Shovelhead

One of our favorite builds to date. This was a commissioned build and we started with cutting the back half of the frame off and welding on a 1957 Panhead hardtail section and turned this stock swing arm Shovelhead into a 1960's style chopper.

Rocky commissioned this bike after he saw our 1973 Honda CB750 build, Jolene. He gave us quite a bit of creative control after sending in some photos of bikes that he loved. Black, white and gold were all integrated into the build when it was decide that would be the theme.

We built nearly everything from scratch. There is a lot of stainless steel fabrication all over the bike. Specifically, we wanted to build a strong, y’all sissy bar from stainless using two 5/8” stainless round bars. We also used stainless for the handlebars, exhaust, brackets and many of the subtle details on this Bicentennial H-D.

Mechanical work included rebuilding the engine, the transmission (by Union), the wheels, seat pan, sissy bar, footpegs, handlebars, front end, etc.

cosmetic work beyond our fabrication, polish and refinishing included upholstery by Interior Revolution and paint by Bud Coose.
