1980 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead
Brandon's personal bike. We welded on a 1957 Panhead hardtail section and turned this stock swing arm Shovelhead into a 1960's style chopper. The down tubes were replaced and we added about 3" total up to straighten the backbone and rake the frame by changing the geometry and leaving the neck alone aside from the massive amount of time "windowing" and shaving things down.
We built nearly everything from scratch. Mechanical work included rebuilding the engine using a 4 1/2” S&S stroker flywheel along with .090” over pistons turning this chopper into a powerful 88” stroked hot rod. We’re running a Rawhide Cycle Electronic Ignition, a JbrosG Oil Filter Adapter, Baker transmission, S&S Super E and we built the wheels, seat pan, sissy bar, footpegs, handlebars, front end, controls and exhaust.
Cosmetic work beyond our fabrication, polish and refinishing included upholstery by Interior Revolution and paint by Bud Coose.
